A small group of residents who simply wanted better for their community formed Mirehouse Residents Group in March 2008.
The group gained charitable status (charity number 1148562) with a simple outline: “To encourage and inspire the residents of Mirehouse to make a positive difference in the lives of their neighbours, themselves and their community, and to encourage pride in Mirehouse.”
We are seeking a Treasurer to join our small group of Trustees.
What will you be doing? Responsible for financial administration of the Group and financial advice to the trustees. Ensuring that any decisions which leave the Group exposed are done so with the full knowledge of the risks. Reporting to the Trustees on a monthly basis and an AGM.
Accounts are currently undertaken on Excel and Word.
The ideal volunteer would have accounting experience and be able to do the Charity and Companies House accounts. Being a fully qualified accountant isn’t essential however.
Employee payments and Statuary Accounts are undertaken by an external organisation. Preparation of information would be required by the Treasurer to those organisations.
We would welcome any advice and experience of potentially setting up new systems to streamline our current practice.
