Fit 4 Life – Machine Maintenance, Repairs & Servicing & General Maintenance

Fit 4 Life is a Social Enterprise based in Maryport, with outreach centres in Workington and Whitehaven. The overall aim of Fit 4 Life is to improve the health and well-being of all local people, especially those who have, or who are at risk of developing chronic diseases such as Coronary Heart Disease, Diabetes and Stroke. We do this by offering high quality exercise facilities at affordable prices with expert support and advice from our team of highly qualified Instructors. Overall, we aim to reduce the health inequalities that are so apparent locally and improve both quality of life and life expectancy.

With limited funding available, we are now seeking support with the development, functionality, and growth of the organisation.

Due to the escalating costs associated with service engineers & repairs, we are looking to develop an established routine programme of machine servicing. The objective is to extend the lifespan of our exercise machines and minimise the occurrence of machine failures. The proposed routine involves servicing each machine twice a year at each of the three centres, with an estimated duration of approximately 4 hours per session.

The servicing programme would include checking the mechanics for faults or signs of wear and tear, as well as cleaning and lubricating components. Additionally, having support for promptly addressing and fixing broken machines, when necessary, would prove highly beneficial to our operational efficiency. We do have some knowledge and understanding of what is needed for the upkeep of the machines & would hope we could get support from those who do have mechanical knowledge and could assist in the programme.

In addition, we would welcome support with our general maintenance, which may include repairing electrical faults, plumbing and general building maintenance. Currently, we have to outsource this, which can be costly.
