Could you spare 2 hours a month to help us support unpaid/family Carers in Eden?

There are over 6000, unpaid Carers in Eden! An unpaid Carer is anyone, including children and adults who looks after a family member, partner or friend who needs help because of their illness or disability. 3 in 5 of us will be a Carer at some point in our lives. Carer Support Eden is a charity that gives support and information to help people in their caring role. We are looking for Volunteers for our ‘Companionship Sitting Service’. This volunteering role only requires a couple of hours a month and involves sitting and chatting with a ‘Cared For’ person to allow their Carer time to leave the house, catch up with friends or even just rest in another room. There is no personal care involved, our Volunteers are solely there for companionship to allow the Carer some ‘me time’. We offer our Volunteers training and support and as well as being part of a fantastic team, you will meet great people and be directly ‘giving something back’ in your local community. A little time goes a long way!
