The aim of West Coast Down’s Syndrome Support Group is to support children and young people with Down’s Syndrome along with their families. We need to raise awareness of our children’s abilities and dispel the perception that our children can’t – OUR CHILDREN CAN.
We offer support to families, sharing our own experiences, resources and knowledge. Our families have the opportunity for many social events and experiences. On their own they may not be able to access these activities. With the support of other families around them – the everyday activities that average families take for granted, but our families can find difficult or inaccessible – can become a reality. Children can have the same opportunities and experience as their peers.
We welcome all Down’s Syndrome children and young adults and their families from Allerdale and Copeland although we are also very happy to welcome families from outside those boundaries and currently have one family from Carlisle and one from Kendal.
Currently we have 28 families in the group with ages varying from under one years of age to thirty-five years of age.
The families meet once a month at the Phoenix Community Centre, Cleator Moor and once a month at Funky Monkeys, Workington for our ‘Chill, Chat and Play’ sessions.
Although the group was formed in 2010, it has only been in recent years that the group has become the effective unit it is today.
We are now in the position that we would appreciate some “in kind” support with developing a business plan.
To enhance our chances for funding, potential funders ask us to supply various documents, one of which is a Business Plan.
Although we have wide ranging experience within the group, we do not have any one comfortable with producing a business plan.
We would appreciate if someone could complete a 3/5 year business plan on our behalf or assist in producing one?
