Build your CV and Support Your Community – become a trustee

Unmatched

Our building is a charity and needs trustees to oversee it and keep it in a good standard of repair. Our chairman for the past 15 years has recently left and he was a very active chairman. We now have 3 trustees remaining with only one really been an active trustee. We feel weak in terms of the number of trustees and the skill set that we have between us. This is a great opportunity to build your CV, skills and support your local community. We are looking for people who have an interest in Cleator Moor, or West Cumbria and in supporting services for children, young people and the wider community. The role will involve attending quarterly trustee meetings but also supporting the running of the building. This involves annual fire checks, insurance, liaising with user groups, setting and collecting rent, fundraising for repairs and building improvements and paying bills. The time over the year is very minimal only 10-20 hours or so. We don’t delivery anything ourselves from the building, we provide the building for the community so the time commitment is not a big one. The current main users are Cleator Moor Amateur Boxing Club and The Phoenix Youth Project along with Bee Unique and Cleator Moor Spiritualist Church. The charity owns the build, land around it and the sports court to the rear of the building.
